1. Trainings & screenings
APHC offer blood pressure trainings (certified by American Red Cross), body mass index and body fat percentage screenings.
2. Blood test kits
APHC collaborates with Herald Christian Health Center to distribute fecal occult blood test (FOBT) kits that screen for colorectal cancer.
3. Health screenings
APHC attends weekly health fairs and major events around the greater Los Angeles Area to provide free health screenings for the disadvantaged Asian Pacific Islander Population. APHC will also host four health fairs this coming year: Monterey Park Health Fair in the Fall, Our Lady of Peace in the Winter (collaborate with LSHP and PCH), our 1st health fair in Alhambra in the Winter, Chinatown Community Health Fair in the Spring.
We offer 50 leadership positions throughout the year to encourage volunteers to improve their communication skills while also becoming more involved in the community.
Founded in 1980, the Asian Pacific Health Corps (APHC) has been devoted to serving disadvantaged API communities that have minimal access to health care and limited financial resources.
